THERE’S a giant of a task for Northumberland volunteers as help is sought to look after the county’s newest attraction.
Northumberland Wildlife Trust and Azure Charitable Enterprises are inviting people to get involved with the management of the massive landform sculpture Northumberlandia, near Blagdon.
The feature is made of 1.5m tonnes of rock, clay and soil, standing 100ft tall and a quarter of a mile long at the centre of a 46-acre community park.
Volunteer site welcomers are needed to greet visitors on open days and assist with parking and directions for special events, while a volunteer warden group will be set up to work with a project officer in maintaining the site. No specific skills are required.
