THERE is still time for county residents to enter a nature-themed photography competition.
Northumberland, Durham and Tees Valley Wildlife Trusts have joined forces with the Natural History Society of Northumbria and the Great North Museum: Hancock in the hope that keen snappers will showcase the best of the region’s wildlife.
The competition is open to amateur and professional photographers and prizes will be on offer for each section. Only images taken in the North East will be eligible.
The five categories are Wildlife Portraits, Wildlife Behaviour, Wildlife in the Landscape, Botanical and Young Persons’ photos of flora and fauna taken by anyone aged 16 or under.
A maximum of five pictures can be entered. Participants must state which competition category they are entering.
In March, the winning and runner-up images will be displayed at the Great North Museum in Newcastle before going on tour around the region.
Photographs can be submitted in a digital or printed format.
Low resolution images should be emailed to north eastwildlifephoto@gmail.com with details of the category, where it was taken, a telephone number and address.
Printed photos should be posted to Steve Ashton, North East Wildlife Photography Competition, Tees Valley Wildlife Trust, Margrove Heritage Centre, Boosbeck, Saltburn, TS12 3BZ. The back of each picture must show the entrant’s name, address and telephone number, which category they are for and where they were taken.
All entries for the Young Persons’ section must include the date of birth of the photographer.
