A NATIONAL charity is urging people to sign up to a healthier lifestyle through its 90 Minute Challenge.
Diabetes UK will mark the 90th anniversary of the first person to be successfully treated with insulin this month and to celebrate it has come up with a new challenge.
People are being asked to commit to taking on a new healthy activity, such as dancing, swimming or Nordic walking, for 90 minutes each week for a month.
The initiative is designed to encourage a healthier lifestyle as a balanced diet and regular physical activity can reduce the risk of developing Type 2 diabetes.
And the challenge could also raise funds to support the charity’s work, with participants invited to raise £90 in sponsorship from friends, family and colleagues.
