TIME is running out for people to submit their Self-Assessment tax return.
HM Revenue and Customs has issued a reminder to some 49,000 taxpayers across Northumberland that their returns must be submitted by the end of the month.
Those who have not yet completed the forms must do them online and anyone who fails to send a return by the deadline, or who now files a paper return, will receive a £100 penalty, even if they have no tax to pay.
Anyone completing an online return for the first time will need to register and it could take ten days to receive an activation code. People have been warned that it could also take 10 days to obtain a replacement password if necessary.
For more information, or help completing the return, visit www.hmrc.gov.uk/sa or call 0845 900 0444.
