A BUSY Northumberland advice service is in for a funding boost after being picked as a charity partner.
The Original Factory Shop in Morpeth Market Place invited customers to nominate local good causes for the position via its Facebook page.
And the result has seen DAWN Citizens’ Advice Bureau selected as the store’s charity partner for 2013.
Staff will be drawing up a programme of fund-raising activity for the initiative and there is a minimum target to collect £500 for the organisation.
Store Manager Kim Duncan said: “We received a fantastic response to our Make A Difference appeal.
“We’re very excited about raising money for the DAWN Citizens’ Advice Bureau this year and we’ll be meeting with it now to make sure we take advantage of every opportunity to support it.
“I’m sure our caring customers will be right behind us and help us raise much-needed funds for our Make A Difference partner.”
The charity initiative was launched across the national chain’s stores in 2010 and has contributed more than £300,000 to hundreds of local causes across the UK since.
Last year the Morpeth shop selected young people’s housing support charity and youth service provider Barnabas Safe and Sound as its beneficiary to help the organisation buy new transport.
