TWO new Deputy Lord Lieutenants for Northumberland have been appointed by the Queen.
Air Vice Marshal David Hurrell, of Alnwick, and Commander Andrew Collier, of Hayden Bridge, will carry out the role to support the Duchess of Northumberland in her duties as Lord Lieutenant, the Queen’s official representative in the county.
Deputies are chosen for their significant contribution to the community and duties include organising Royal visits and escorting Royal visitors around the county, attending civic events and presenting decorations and awards.
