OPEN events are being held at Northumberland College to tie in with National Apprenticeship Week.
Those interested in doing one of these courses, as well as employers looking to recruit apprentices, are invited to come along to the organisation’s two main campuses to find out more.
A dedicated team will be available at each event to give advice on what the training consists of, how to find an employer and the requirements for businesses.
Information will also be provided about bursaries and grants, including the new 24+ Advanced Learning Loan, which can help with the cost of studying.
The first event will take place on Tuesday at the Ashington campus on College Road between 4.30pm and 7pm for people interested in apprenticeships within the following subjects: Business administration, construction, motor vehicles, engineering.
The one at Kirkley Hall, near Ponteland, on Wednesday from 4.30pm to 7pm will focus on apprenticeships and courses linked to the rural economy including agriculture, horticulture, animal care and veterinary nursing.
Visitors to the open events can apply for programmes straightaway, including some short introductory courses which start from as little as £5.
