FARRIERS and vets can learn from equine experts at two training days.
The events, organised by Alnorthumbria Veterinary Group, are bringing two of the UK’s leading farriers and a specialist in equine surgery to Morpeth.
Tomorrow, the Gubeon Equestrian Centre is the venue for a clinic on shoeing performance horses. Speakers are Patrick Pollock, senior clinical fellow in equine surgery at The Weipers Centre Equine Hospital at Glasgow University, farrier Jim Ferrie, who specialises in corrective remedial shoeing and lameness, and Haydn Price, the Team GB 2012 Olympic farrier.
In the afternoon, participants will attend a practical session at Alnorthumbria’s Fairmoor Equine Clinic.
Tomorrow, there will be a client clinic at Fairmoor with Jim Ferrie.
Clients can attend with their regular farrier for an appointment with Jim, who will assess their horse and give advice on dynamic shoeing for best performance.
To register for the clinic, contact Lesley Barwise Monro on 07713 122109 or Barbara Buglass on 01670 897597.
