Friends of Ponteland Park
ALL are welcome to take part in the Friends of Ponteland Park (FOPP) spring walk on Saturday.
Those who come along are asked to meet at 10am by the Main Street entrance to the park.
After seeing how the community facility is progressing, walkers can then enjoy a hot drink.
FOPP was the brainchild of Margaret Stainsby. It was formed in 2005 and since then its members have added new attractions and cleared up some areas of the park.
A wildflower meadow, young people’s wood and Marie Curie Garden of Hope are among the attractions which have been created by members, with local residents and community groups also encouraged to take part in the activities.
The group was also heavily involved in a project to improve the access to Oxbow Lake.
