A CANNABIS haul worth an estimated £70,000 has been seized by police in a drugs raid.
Officers discovered the cannabis farm in a garage at a Morpeth industrial unit last week.
Police carried out the raid at 7pm on Wednesday, April 3, after obtaining a search warrant.
A total of 400 plants were recovered.
Morpeth Neighbourhood Inspector Dave Simpson said: “This is a considerable amount of cannabis that we suspect was intended to be sold.
“This activity should act as a warning to anyone suspected of being involved in cultivating drugs that we are taking action to disrupt their criminal behaviour and will continue to do so.
“Information we receive from our communities is crucial in helping us and we continue to ask anyone with any information about crime or any concerns to contact us.”
A 27-year-old local man was arrested on suspicion of producing a controlled drug and has been released on police bail.
