COMMUNITY groups and organisations who received money from the council over the course of the 2011/12 financial year will have to go before members if they want to apply for future cash.
The council will write to all those who were given grants over the last year and invite them to come and speak to the council if they want to be considered for future funding.
l YOUNGSTERS who performed in James Calvert Spence College’s festive production have been applauded for their efforts, with some even receiving letters of praise from Coun Dickinson.
The councillor, who attended the Christmas Review with Couns Alice Charlton and Paul Claridge, paid tribute to the performances.
He said: “The children all performed really well and they did a fantastic job”
Meanwhile, the festive entertainment in Hadston was given the thumbs up.
Coun Dickinson gave the village’s Christmas lights switch-on ceremony a glowing review, describing the December 10 event as a ‘great success’, while he said that the show, Alice in Pantoland, which was held at Druridge Bay Community Centre, was ‘fantastic’.
l A NATIONAL Lottery grant has been awarded to Hadston House Youth and Community Project and will be spent on new equipment.
l REPAIRS to CCTV in Hadston have taken place and the system is up and running PC Dent told members that the equipment has helped to reduce crime in the area.
l THE next meeting is on Monday, February 6, at Hadston Youth and Community Building, starting at 5.30pm.
