A PONTELAND High School student’s designer dream became a reality when she received her own pair of shoes after winning a national competition.
The judging panel from Daniel Footwear loved Cora McLeod’s Wave Wedge concept and awarded her first prize out of more than 1,200 entries.
And the 15-year-old recently got to see the finished product, which is now on sale at Daniel Footwear stores and online.
She was inspired by the beach and sea when designing the shoe.
“I was really excited when I found out that I had won the competition,” she added.
“The shoes look great and I can’t wait to start wearing them.”
Cora also received a £100 voucher and a framed picture of her design next to an image of the made shoe.
The firm’s sales director, Russell McLean, said: “The design was very eye-catching and it fits perfectly into our spring/summer collection.”
