A COMMUNITY building has received a major funding boost to repair a leaky problem.
Pegswood Welfare Centre has announced that it has received grant donations of £8,491 from The Big Lottery Fund and £5,000 from The Sir James Knott Trust to cover the costs of the flat roof recovery.
Trustee Margaret Davison said: “We have had problems with our large flat roof for the past two years. During heavy showers, water has been pouring into the hall and has caused disruption to our activities.
“Thanks to these generous donations, we will be able to recover the whole roof and our activities can continue as normal.”
The works will be completed over two weeks in the summer months and regular activities will continue during this time.
