THREE men have been reported for summons for offences under the Poaching Act.
This follows an incident in Medburn, near Ponteland, at approximately 11pm on Tuesday, January 14, when men with lurcher dogs were seen in the area.
Police were called and they stopped and spoke to several people and seized lamping equipment.
Following inquiries, three men, aged 25, 32 and 40, were reported for summons.
Sergeant Mick Quinn said: “We take poaching very seriously and work with local gamekeepers and farmers to target illegal poachers.”
