A man has been charged with drink-driving after an incident in Morpeth.
At 11.46pm on Friday, June 13, police received a report that a vehicle had crashed into a wall at Pottery Bank and left the scene without stopping.
The car was then found abandoned nearby. No-one was injured in the collision.
A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of drink-driving and has subsequently been charged with the offence. He will appear at South East Northumberland Magistrates’ Court on July 1.
The charge comes during Northumbria Police’s road safety campaign Operation Dragoon, aimed at making the roads safer for everyone.
