PEOPLE can enjoy the great outdoors and find out more about a community scheme in Morpeth on Wednesday.
Officers from the Northumberland office of Groundwork North East will be running a Families Go Wild afternoon at Stobhill Playing Field, Tenth Avenue.
It will be an opportunity to discover what exciting outdoors activities families can undertake in large open green spaces. Those available on the day include tracks and trails, a scavenger hunt and making bird boxes.
Staff from Groundwork, Northumberland County Council and ISOS Housing will be on hand to provide information about the charity’s work in the county and the @myurbangreen project.
The scheme enables residents in towns and cities to be actively involved in shaping the future development, maintenance and management of their local Greener Living Spaces, created by Marks and Spencer and Groundwork over the past three years.
Refreshments will be provided at the free event, which is being held from 2pm to 4pm.
