POLICE are taking action to crackdown on unruly scramblers.
Problems have been reported of the bikers in Widdrington Station and Ellington in recent weeks as they tear through fields.
However, Widdrington Station and Stobswood Parish Council member Shelly Willoughby said the police are aware of the issue and are working to address it.
“Both this village and Ellington are having problems at the moment with the scramblers going into fields,” she said.
“They are going to the old brickworks, the coal road and they are also going onto land at The Hagg. They are leaving the gates open and a farmer has had cattle on the road at Ellington.
“There are steps being taken to try to curtail that activity.”
The issue was reported at the parish meeting earlier this month.
