A small council tax rise has been agreed by Pegswood Parish Council.
The precept for the 2015/16 financial year will be £93,050 – a 1.2 per cent increase in line with the December 2014 inflation rate.
The total expenditure allocation in the budget is £220,850. The remaining funds for this come from general income and transfers from reserves (each will provide £63,900).
A spokesman for the local authority said: “The council will continue with the improvements it has initiated on cleaner streets and the local environment and deliver a skate park for the youth of the village.”
As well as projects (£131,790), a total of £29,640 will be spent on parks and open spaces and £9,240 has been set aside for grants and donations.
Meanwhile, the parish council has decided to move the dog waste bin at the medical centre to an area by the Pegswood Moor Community Park Phase II entrance.
There is a general waste bin near the one for dog waste (owners can put a bag of it in a general bin) at the medical centre and members agreed that those who walk their dogs in the section of park which opened to the public last summer need such a facility.
