NHS staff working in hospitals, out in the community and in patients’ own homes across Northumberland are among the happiest in the country, according to the national NHS staff survey for 2014.
The Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, which also covers North Tyneside, recorded the best response rate to the survey in England (82 per cent) and as well as the high levels of job satisfaction, 94 per cent of staff feel their role makes a difference to patients.
The trust’s chief executive, Jim Mackey, said: “I am immensely proud of these survey results. They show that our teams feel valued, motivated and happy in their work.”
