FIREFIGHTERS are looking to recruit ten young members to their team.
Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service is seeking applications for its Stannington Young Firefighters branch.
The group is open to 13 to 18-year-olds from the local area and will offer the opportunity for members to learn firefighting skills, gain qualifications and take part in community and social events, as well as go on outings.
Sessions are held every Thursday evening at Pegswood Community Fire Station and are led by experienced instructors.
The service is seeking recruits who are enthusiastic, reliable, keen to learn, eager to make the most of their potential and who wish to contribute to their community.
Chief Fire Officer Alex Benntt said: “Young Firefighter branches across the county offer safe, welcoming environments where members can learn new skills, meet friends and develop an understanding of fire safety and the fire service.
“We look forward to welcoming new members to our Stannington branch.”
