A busy nature reserve is set to close for about a year for major improvement work.
Northumberland Wildlife Trust’s Hauxley reserve at Druridge Bay will close on Tuesday, April 7, until spring 2016 while a new Wildlife Discovery Centre is built.
In addition new footpaths will be installed, viewing screens will be created and vital maintenance work will be carried out on existing hides.
The entire reserve will be classed as a construction site so it has to close for health and safety reasons. Follow progress at www.facebook.com/HauxleyNatureReserve
