Drivers have been warned of overnight road closures on the A696 near Newcastle Airport.
The roadworks will start on Monday between Kenton Bar and Prestwick Roundabout and will run until Friday, May 15, between 8pm and 6am.
The A696 westbound carriageway will be closed between Kenton Bar Interchange and Newcastle Airport for resurfacing.
A clearly signed diversion route will be in place via the B6918 Ponteland Road, and drivers heading to the airport are advised to leave extra time for their journeys.
There will also be a lane closure on the A696 westbound carriageway between Newcastle Airport and Prestwick Roundabout. Traffic signals will be in operation and there will be reduced speed limits through the roadworks.
