A MORPETH care home worker has picked up a top company award for his first-class service.
Foxton Court worker Richard Dobinson has been named Activities Co-ordinator 2012 for Helen McArdle Care.
The award was presented in front of 200 staff at a ceremony at the Hilton Newcastle Gateshead, where other gongs were dished out for care, catering, housekeeping, nursing and management, as well as Care Home of the Year.
Mr Dobinson said: “I was honoured to receive the award for Activities Co-ordinator, it means so much to me.
“Without the support of the residents, staff and families of Foxton Court it would not have been possible.
“I put my success as an Activities Co-ordinator down to the enthusiasm of the residents during my sessions and also all of the support from outside groups that come to help at Foxton Court.”
Residents, families, healthcare workers and staff were asked to nominate workers for the awards in November and December, with nominees shortlisted by senior managers before the remaining candidates were invited for interviews to determine the winners.
Chairman Helen McArdle said: “Over the last 25 years we have won many national and regional awards for the care that we provide in our homes and whilst these awards are very special to us, they couldn’t be won without the dedication, care and motivation of our staff.
“We decided that this year we would hold our own awards so that we could personally honour the staff that make us the company that we are.”
