l CONCERNS have been raised about speeding motorists throughout East Chevington parish.

North Broomhill and Red Row were highlighted as problem areas, and a call has been made for action.

It was suggested to seek advice from the Northumbria Safer Roads Initiative.

l SCHOOLCHILDREN are trampling the garden at Hadston House Youth and Community Building, members heard.

Coun Fred Thurgood said: “They are running all over it. They climb the wall, they get on top of the fence. They are using it as a playground.”

Coun Dickinson said that the Hadston House Youth and Community Projects Ltd board would deal with the issue.

l TWO swing seats are being ordered for Broomhill Park. The current ones have been removed for safety reasons, because of the state they were in.

l THE council is to write to DP Builders, calling for action or an indication of the company’s plans for the former Petticas Garage site in Red Row. Coun Kay Morris described its current appearance as ‘spoiling the village’.

l A REQUEST has been made for seats by the side of the pavilion at Red Row Welfare to be cleaned and repainted.

l THE next meeting will take place on Monday, May 14, at Hadston Youth and Community Building.
