A TRAILER, tools and materials have been stolen from a Northumberland beauty spot.

The theft took place at Druridge Bay Country Park last week when thieves cut through a wooden gate to enter a compound.

They took the trailer and used it to make off with a number of other items, including metal signs, metal fencing, fence posts and tools.

A car parked in the compound had its windows smashed and the tax disc, radio and spare wheel were stolen.

The incident took place sometime between 6pm on Wednesday and 8am on Thursday.

Police believe the crime may also be linked to a burglary in the Red Row area last week when thieves broke into a caravan in an allotment at Swarland Terrace and stole a Snap On toolbox, tools, a Wolf generator and two red trolley jacks.

Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to contact officers on 101, ext 69191, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
