MOVES are under way by Pegswood Parish Council to improve its communication with residents.
It is looking to put in place new and improved noticeboards and encourage people to come along to its offices in the Union Depot, Front Street, for any issue to do with the village.
Clerk Kevin Cassie said the current noticeboards are ‘not fit for purpose’ and new ones were needed in the best places to be seen by the community.
They should include information from other organisations so they can showcase all the activities going on in Pegswood.
He added that the strategy will also include making the council’s website better and encouraging residents to attend its annual assembly event.
It will be carried out in stages and the total cost will be about £8,000, although this amount will come from the authority’s existing funds.
