Morpeth Camera Club

THE theme of Morpeth Camera Club’s evening was the projection of pictures from the club camera.

During the course of the season, the club camera is given to various members to use for one week.

The object is to use a camera which one is not accustomed to and take five photographs, which will be shown towards the end of the season.

The main stipulation is that these images are not subject to any manipulation.

Fourteen members submitted photographs, some of which had an individual theme.

The evening continued with Competition Secretary Davy Bolam detailing the results of the Annual Seven Way Inter-club PDI Category Competition held at Wooler Camera Club on Sunday, April 7.

In this contest, each of the seven clubs had to enter ten images with not less than one and no more than two images in the each of the following categories: Landscape, Interiors, Portraits and Photo Journalism, Flora and Fauna, Still Life, and Fantasy, Myth, Legend or Religion.

Jane Black of Sunderland Photographic Association judged the competition.

She gave each image a mark out of 30 based on her opinion as to whether it best reflected the category in which it was entered.

The scores for each club’s individual images were added up and in a close contest, Morpeth Camera Club came out on top.

Mr Bolam thanked those members who submitted images for consideration and to Steve Mcdonald, Vince Rooker, Glyn Trueman, Ian Cadwallender and Mark Harrison, whose pictures were used to good effect in this competition.
