Two traders are hoping to be regulars at Morpeth Market after trying out a stall.
Babywear designer Alexandra Kay and Rosalind Gray, who sells clothing and accessories, both took up a special offer to try trading at the town’s weekly Wednesday market as part of the national Love Your Local Market campaign.
Ms Kay set up I Miei Cherubini (My Little Cherubs) to cater for a gap in the market for clothes and gifts for baby boys, while Ms Gray’s Dress 2 Impress business offers jewellery, hats, shoes and accessories.
After a brisk day of sales, they hope to join the market on a more regular basis.
Northumberland County Council Policy Board Member for Streetcare and Environment Ian Swithenbank said: “We are always keen to welcome new traders to our markets.”
