New sponsor wants to find the county’s best employer

The prestigious Northumberland Business Awards has secured another major sponsor for one of its categories..

The annual event has the Bernicia Group on board as it backs the Employer of the Year category.

There is still time to make a nomination for this year’s awards. The closing date for entries is Friday, October 31.

The awards will be presented at a black tie dinner on Thursday, November 20, at Linden Hall.

The event is open to any businesses based in Northumberland, simply fill in the nomination form and send it to the address on the form.

The awards are organised by Northeast Press, publishers of the Morpeth Herald, News Post Leader and Northumberland Gazette, and Tweeddale Press, publisher of the Berwick Advertiser.

The categories for the 2014 event are Small Business of the Year (under 10 employees); Business of the Year (11 plus employees); Employer of the Year; Apprentice / Trainee of the Year; Innovation Award; New Business (under two years); Best Green Business Award; Exporter of the Year; Leisure Award; Creative Industries Award; Lifetime Achievement Award.
