Two pensioners who died in a road accident in Northumberland have been named by police.
Ninety-three-year-old Katherine Scott, from Morpeth, and 86-year-old Charles Henry Chester, of Bedlington, died yesterday in an accident on the A192 near Hartford Bridge.
The accident happened just after noon when Mr Chester’s blue Nissan Micra and Ms Scott’s silver Vauxhall Astra collided.
A female passenger from the Astra remains in hospital. Her condition is not believed to be life threatening.
Enquiries are ongoing into the collision and anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference 399 08/04/15.
