Works to improve the state of a country road near Morpeth have been carried out.
At the weekend, staff from the highways team at Northumberland County Council did some resurfacing where the edges of the road that goes through the hamlet of Glororum had crumbled.
On Tuesday, they returned to fill a number of potholes.
Local residents and Stannington Parish Council had called for urgent repairs as the road was already in a poor condition and it has been made even worse because of heavy goods vehicles.
They have been using the road to get to and from the St Mary’s Hospital housing site, which is being developed by Bellway Homes, and, in recent months, the Well Hill opencast mine operated by Hargreaves Production Surface Mining.
